WASHINGTON D.C.: The US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has given Boeing approval to continue delivering its wide-body 787 Dreamliner.
Deliveries of the 787 had been temporarily halted after the FAA discovered an error in the analysis of data related to the forward pressure bulkhead, which Boeing Co discovered after reviewing its certification records.
The FAA said Boeing has since corrected the error.
"The FAA may resume issuing airworthiness certificates next week," the agency said.
Shares of Boeing stock closed up 0.91 percent following news of the continuation of deliveries.
"The FAA will determine when 787 ticketing and deliveries resume, and we are working with our customers on delivery timing," Boeing said in a statement.
The FAA had ordered Boeing to suspend deliveries of the 787 in February following a year-long pause due to production quality problems.
In May 2021 Boeing was forced to suspend deliveries after the FAA discovered gaps around the forward pressure bulkhead, which operates as a barrier between the pressurized interior cabin and the nose of the aircraft.
At that time, Boeing voluntarily replaced components so it might resume deliveries of the 787 in August 2022.
