Taiwan Sun Saturday 13th December, 2003
Seven people were killed by the rain storms that struck most Tunisia on Friday, in what was reported the worst storms to in 30 years.
State-owned Tunisian Radio said those killed were from Jandouba, northwest of the capital, Tunis, and in Benzert, north of the capital.
It said the heavy rainfall caused floods in the valleys.
The National Meteorology Institute said the rains that fell on the north African country were the heaviest since 30 years, registering more than seven inches in the major provinces and across the coast.
